StatementThis country. This white country, loves to cover up its biggest blunders at the expense of black, brown, and other non-white bodies. I always knew racism existed and that people did not like me because of the color of my skin. However, it took me nearly 20 years to get mad about it. I was duped. I thought this was just ‘how things are.’ This country was molded by the corrupt and reconciliation is always an uphill battle. The fact that black people are just that, people, has been grossly neglected and for ignorant reasons. Too often racists site the bible for the reasoning and this kind of rationale caused so much death, destruction, and displacement and it is unfair that I feel like it is controversial to speak about.
